Hi. I have been card counting and playing Blackjack for 20 months. I have read and studied numerous books on the subject and am currently at 350hrs playing experience. I play with a friend and the both of us are very dedicated at trying to gain the edge and 'beat' the game. The majority of sessions have been wins (i.e 58% winning sessions), but there have been losses and as yet I have struggled to double my bankroll (£2000; 1-12 spread, £2-5 min tables). The closest I have got is £2750, but have also been all the way down to £500. Currently aorund breakeven. At the stage now where I discuss with my friend if we are doing something wrong or if it is just the variance inherent in the game? Should I learn a more advanced count (currently use hi lo with around 50+ indexes), is it just a matter of persistance and aiming for the long run. All these questions pop up particularly after losing sessions and we continually evaluate our game after each session to see what we can improve on.
Main game conditions are: 6 decks, BJ pays 3:2, S17, DAS, resplit Aces, no surrender, Dealer BJ wins all, 75-85% penetration.
Any advice?
