Hi Friends,
How often have you walked up to a table to play blackjack and you were making smalltalk with the dealer and asked her how the players/table/dealer was doing and she said: "everyone's winning, you should play here" or she said: "I'm murdering everyone, you should not play here" or something to that effect, and been correct, that is you started playing and had the same result that she told you was happening when you walked up.
There is a dealer in Biloxi that I really like playing with, I like playing blackjack at her table also (LOL), and every time I walk up to her table she either says "I'm murdering everyone, stay away" or she says "everyone's winning, you should play", and if I sit down to play even though she warned me away I get murdered and if I play when she says everyone is winning, I usually win. I have stood and watched her table for a couple of shoes after she told me she was murdering everyone and sure enough she was murdering everyone.
Now, I don't know what to make of this, so here is the question. Have you seen dealers predict the outcome of your play before you sat down often enough, and they were right, that there is some credence to following a dealer's advice to stay away or play? Another question, if this phenomenom really does exist, how does the dealer know? Personally, I have seen this enough to think that there is something to it, although I know the math boys are going to have a coniption (spelling?) fit, I can hear them now: "there is NO such thing as a 'hot' dealer", well you haven't SEEN this lady dealer, I am telling you she is HOT (just kidding). Anyway, what do you think about this?
I know, I know, the statistics say it doesn't matter what happened before you sat down, but I think that there is more to blackjack, or anything involving human beings, than cold statstics. I think the human factor, the psychology factor, the energy of the people around the table has to be considered. I know for myself I cannot play at a table that has bad/negative energy, I may as well just hand my chips over and save the time playing because I will definitely lose. For me, the psychological aspect is very important.
Steve
