I'm not saying tipping adds longevity
Are you sure that toking helps to prolong your life in certain casino?
I think it matter of 30 minutes for pit boss to determine that you are card counter. At least (basic strategy, gradual betting) very hard to hide that u are not cardcounter.
I think it is not due to that when u tipping u cannot be cardcounter...
I'm not saying tipping adds longevity. Unless you tip a ridiculous amount.
Let me give an example. Awhile ago I wanted a shoe game open. Because I was liked at the casino, they opened up a new shoe game for me in a new pit. I was going to make a few thousand in EV that night, so I tipped the dealers enough times for the pit to notice. I have a method of tipping that maximizes the dealers and pit noticing it that I do not wish to share. After all, I was probably taking someone off break or something. The dealer and the pit. If I hadn't tipped before, I would not have gotten my reserved table to begin with at this place.
This is a place where I have passed muster. I am not counting, but still playing a game where I have to spread. I am basically spreading 1-40. About an hour into the game the dealer gives me a 5, a 4, and then two cards come out of the shoe when she is taking her card. I yell "misdeal". She says she thinks the card on the right is supposed to be her card. Because of my crappy beginning hands I say I thought it was the card on the left. Pit comes over, smiles at me, and says to burn all the cards and start over. I looked it up, and that was just about the EV of the tip that I had left.
Twice during that session I had mispays. After each one the dealer hesitated after scooping up the cards, so I know she caught it. If she didn't like me, she would have called over the pit to back up the cards and take back my money.
I never got backed off there although I am up well into 5-figures. The game just deteriorated. If I were a card counter, I probably would have been backed off regardless.
I also tip security guards to walk me to my car if I am nervous. I have hired a bodyguard in a foreign country where I was nervous and tipped casino security there as well. If someone does me a favor, I will tip.
If I am playing with money that is not completely mine, I don't tip. If I am counting cards, I tip very rarely. When I was playing with max bets around 2x$300 or lower, I never tipped.
