Hollywood Dave on CAESAR'S 24/7

Not to shill or anything, but i told everyone awhile back i'd post when i found out when my episode of "Caesars 24/7" would be airing. Well, its TODAY! That's right -- tonite, Monday, @ 10 pm on the A&E network...

And of course, featured prominently are Don Schlesinger's Ultimate Basic Strategy Cards, with which i taught a l'il hottie how to be a Big Player. Since final approval went through Caesar's Palace, i was instructed to teach my pupil how to "win" at blackjack -- all without mentioning card counting. I told them that instead, i'd teach her how to have "the best CHANCE of winning" blackjack by teaching BS. We'll see how they edited this together -- cross your fingers. The voiceover they ORIGINALLY wanted me to read had references to counting being ILLEGAL. Of course i refused to say any such thing, but who knows what the final result will be. ;)

I played on the Strip over the weekend in several high limit rooms. The crude behavior and rudeness toward most players is getting ridiculous. I sat at a high limit game waiting for the dealer to finish her mindless conversation with the even more moronic pit boss while no cards were being shuffled or dealt. I played, won, gave no toke and then she decided to pay attention. She was upset when I left without filing her pockets with green chips. Ungrateful and rude scum, she deserved nothing.

As I often do, I had a friend go to the table after I left as if to buy in. He was there only to try to hear any conversation with the pit boss and dealer. Both were discussing my play and were upset that I had won. I can't tell you the rest of the conversation as it was specific and would identify me. Suffice is to say, they wanted to make sure my play was more closely scrutinized.

I would like to tell about the other two places but cannot divulge the details, other than the scrutiny was equal. Rude to me because I was ahead while cheering on absolute fools who have money but no ability. What lowlifes these casino people are.

How I am one of the very, very few who continue ongoing play in the biggest games, I can't discuss right now, but it is extremely rare to see any competant players in the big games anymore.

Well, besides being on life support for most of us. It is alive for Hollywood Dave. Dave I think someday you might thank Blackjack for your acting career taking off. You may not be able to make a living playing blackjack anymore but you can make a living acting because (besides talent) you know blackjack. Just a starting point. Good luck.

We were just rerunning the infamous Monty Python "dead parrot" sketch. I actually think blackjack is pretty healthy right now, my guess is Hollywood does too if only for the reasons you mention.

...I just like to give Hollywood good-natured jabs because he says "Blackjack is Dead (nt)" all the time.

I laughed when I saw your post GBV. I was also thinking about the Holy Grail scene with the guy getting bodies from the plague.
