Mike Canjar, also known as "MathProf" on bj21, was one of the most prolific posters on the pages of Green Chip. I believe he got the most POM awards of all (Al can correct me if I am wrong). He shared his knowledge of the game with everyone, and his posts were educational and many times downright humorous (those who read his posts know what I'm talking about, lol).

Today would have been his 64th birthday. He passed away from prostate cancer in 2012.

Happy Birthday, MP - you were one of a kind.

It's good of you to take the time to honor MathProf. His swan song address at a Green Chip party was one for the ages.

I still remember one of Mike's best pieces of advice, and I paraphrase: "Protect your real name at all costs."

I believe that was the best green chip party. That year we honored DD, Bootlegger and Mathpro. That was also our largest green chip party. We made a film of Mathpro's presentation. I do not know what happened to it.

Mathpro was one of my teachers in AP play. The two people I miss most are Mathpro and Bootlegger. Boot was a lifelong friend. We grew up together. How are you doing Wisereyes? It has been a while.

Many of Mathprof’s non-POM posts were gold mines too. It does not seem that long ago that he was here, but I guess it has been.

He would often make humorous spelling errors in his posts. He claimed to have developed a mnemonic for remembering the correct usage and spelling of “lose” and “loose:” “l00se women.” I don’t think I have ever made that error again after reading that one.

Although I no longer am a GC member, I recall some of his typos fondly....... especially the misspelling of the word "count". Something about that letter "o" being omitted now and then, lol.

I check out the free page now and then, just to keep up with the old gang. I've been very busy over the last few years. Tell everyone hello for me, please. Hope you're doing well, old friend.

Mike was indeed a great asset here as well as a great friend. I miss him.

Boot was a lot of fun to be around.

This is the first time I’ve logged on here for over ten years (CSM are everywhere in UK) first thing I did was search for Mathprof, and found this, he was very funny and knew his maths inside out, I thought he would be about 90!
