A dealer is said to be dual rate if they also work at other times as a supervisor. I don't know if this is becoming more common, but I have seen a lot more of it lately. It is disconcerting to play against a dealer and come back a day or so later and see them them in a suit eyeballing your game. From what little I've picked up in conversation, they make better pay as supervisors, but have an uneasy relationship with the other dealers- some days they are buddies, some days they are bosses.
Anyway- watch out for dual raters, they may have more reason than than regular dealers to report on strong players.
