coupons/promotions
The places that have coupon books usually make you sign up for a players card to receive the books. The is also The American casino Guide, which can often be purchases for about half the cover price late in the year at many bookstores.
In addition, some casinos sell wincards and/or promotional chips in which you can buy $15 worth of chips for $10 or $50 worth of chips for $40. They chips act the same as regular chips, they just cannot be cashed out. You play them until you lose. I haven't played with them recently but casinos that fairly recently offered these include Circus Circus, Hardrock, Palms, Four Queens, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood. (Planet Hollywood is now a HET property and probably doesn't still do this promotion#
Ellis Island located at Flamingo and Koval, a long block off the strip, has a 10 ounce prime rib special with potato, vegetable, bread for $6.99 that comes with a $5 matchplay coupon. It isn't on the menu though, you must bask for it. #don't confuse this with the larger prime rib for $12.99 on the menu) They sometime will give you a second matchplay coupon if you ask or make a comment about what a great deal it is.
