First counting experience at a casino w/KO Rookie Sys

Played a total of about 12 hours. Bought in w/$300. Played Single Deck w/$10 min table. Tried the 6 deck table buy couldnt keep up on count. Final talley was I walked away with $165 in winnings.
Havent done the math yet, but for first time out I was pleased.

Any comments or advice appreciated. NEW GUY!

As you probably know, you won a little more than you might have expected. Just don't be discouraged if you lose a similar amount next time out. Don't overextend yourself in terms of the amount of money you are betting until you have more experience. I'm a new player too; you will be surprised at how much you will learn over the next six months, in terms of being able to spot a decent game, and in terms of keeping your head screwed on straight and other things. Read up a little about bankroll requirements; it is a lot more fun to bet at the $3 and $5 tables and win, rather than to blow your wad on a $25 table in one session!

There is a lot of really useful info on the Green Chip section, and I am really glad I joined.

Please be careful about posting identifying information, don't say anything on this forum that would let them figure out who you are. Or who your dealer was, because sometimes they can get into trouble if the house finds out they were giving you decent penetration or whatever.

Finally, you will find that it is very easy to spot other counters at the casino. Don't try to strike up a conversation with them, and try to avoid sitting at the same table as they are.

I'm another newbie at this stuff as well and firstly I'd like to say how great everyone at this board is. Secondly I'm currious as to why you are at a $10 table. I think it's cheaper to learn at a lower limit table while you are getting into the swing of things. Part of it is that I am fairly young (23) and have just started at the table games so I'm still learning the etiquitte and the whole dance of the pit (sounds like it involves snakes doesn't it). It could be that it's hard to find lower limit tables in your area but you'll see me at the $2-$3 tables until I gain confidence in my skills and build my bankroll.

Don't know where Bob is (maybe the url of Arkansas.net is a clue), but up here in the North East, $10 IS a low limit table.

Where (outside of someone's basement) do you find a $3 table?

At the El Cortez I was playing at a single deck $2 table. There are $3 tables in Laughlin and I hear that there are low limit tables in Reno.

You're damn right. I've spread from $1 to $25 on DA2, NDAS single deck in a couple of places in reno/sparks. You aren't going to get much in the way of swank at these places, but even at the higher end "resorts" in the area, 3 dollar tables are common.

Nice flava, Sporkboy. Think about grad school in the Bay Area -- you can join the "team" that plans to take Reno for tens of dollars. (wink!)

Running Count

Wow, you guys are big time. Team play huh? I haven't thought about that much at all though I'm going to find out what kind of spread I can get in laughlin on the low limit tables. Right now my bankroll won't warrent any team play, not until I get a hang of things yet. I have had limited table experiance so that's what my next trip will be about, gaining experiance and learning all that goes on. $1 tables would be great for this but alas my family loves Laughlin so I'll make the most of it, I'm also comfortable with all of the casinos there so that will help.
