Does anyone know of an insurance company that writes currency insurance, most likely as a homeowners rider?
Since I have taken up counting, I have been looking for a policy to cover theft or loss (obviously not gambling loss) of my bankroll without luck. I can't be the first person to look into this. Anybody have a recommendation.
Get a safe deposit box at your bank, should be free.
in a bank near where you live.Just about everybody needs one even if they don't gamble.A professional wouldn't lose more than 10 to 15% of his bankroll in one sitting anyway.

If you think about it, there are (as far as I can see) insurmountable problems with such a coverage, mainly that there is no way the insurer can verify the amount of cash you "lost". Insurance fraud is a huge problem, and this kind of coverage would invite it.
For example, it's not hard to imagine that there would be lots of unlucky souls who "won" tens of thousands at the Western, but were "robbed" (EC?) on their way back to Fremont street.
But you could establish credit lines (cheque cashing privilages ) at casinos so that you don't have to carry cash. This would probably mean you playing in your real name, don't know if this affects you ?
It could also lead to more heat if you take out markers at the house you are playing in. But if like me you never play where you stay (on a per trip basis) you could probably get away with this.
