DIGITAL 21

The previous BJ machine here in Blackhawk now
resides in the back corner on second floor of the
Eureka, comlete with broken buttons and dollar acceptors that do not accept. LOL But DIGITAL 21
now at the ISLE of CAPRI and taking action. Has
anyone knowledge of their acceptance elsewhere?
House likes speed of play, no cards, etc. Dealers hate as tips almost non-existent as players feel they are playing against computer !!!

These appeared in Las Vegas about a year ago - and flopped resoundingly.

Blackjack players didn't like them because they were too computerlike.

The slot/VP crowd didn't like them because they still had to deal with other players and a live dealer.

The dealers hated them because all they did was make change and push buttons, and as you mention, the tokes were lousy.

The pitbosses didn't like them because it was hard to correct a mistake when the dealer pushed the wrong button.

They were all gone in a couple of months.

The only "casino" (and boy-howdy, do I use the term loosely) that is less than 400 miles from Atlanta, is Harrah's Cherokee in North Carolina.

The casino and the players would love to have live table games, but the lawmakers there decided to make a law only allowing machine gambling. So... since the casino is only two hours away, we here in Atlanta are besieged with TV commercials touting digital BJ.

Georgia, by the way, only allows the lottery. Yesterday, a new law came into effect banning the video poker machines (You weren't supposed to gamble on them. Heh, heh.) from all the bars and convenience stores. It was a busy day for heavy appliance movers.

Thanks. Table games under real pressure here and pit bosses trying

to survive. Penn National Gaming bought Bullwackers and

took out 11 tables in BJ pit and 12 in player backed

poker pit. With $5 limit the daily drop on BJ is about

$340. No too shocked at removal of BJ tables, but poker

table's daily drop was over $200 a day more than BJ.

Riviera just took out 3 BJ tables, laid off all part

time dealers, drew lots to let a few full timers go

too.

The Lodge casino has introduced a GO FISH side bet.

Get A BJ and you can play GO FISH. LOL. Wonder if it

will outlast the Wheel of Madness?

I just saw one of the games at Colorado Belle in Laughlin. The real BJ games were packed, but no one was playing the digital game.

The ads for the games in an industry mag called "Gaming Products and Services" are now aiming the machines only toward "casinos" in states where live BJ is not allowed.

A number of other highly-touted high-tech bj developments designed to deter card counters have also failed over the past couple of years, including Safejack, which is now tied up in lawsuits between the inventor and distributor. Gamblers simply prefer the old-fashioned game.

Believe counters not a worry at $5 tables here in Colorado. Pit

About a week and a half ago, I walked through the Isle on a Saturday night, and they were dealing a live 2 deck game on the "digital 21" table. This is the only time I have ever seen a pitch game at the Isle. Possibly the machine broke down so they decided to use the table for a live game.

You are right. Was broke 3 times first week. Dealers liked 2 deck

pitch but gone unless machine malfunctions on busy day again.
