hope this helps
Well there's no easy answer to this question.
My personal thought on it is if I want to tip I do. Not because I should or its expected, or any other reason. If I win or lose it has no barring on wether or not I tip.
Dealer asks you if you count. a)I'd play dumb b)leave c)ask why they thought that I counted(this can be good to find holes about my play i.e. I watch the cards too close and play like a card counting machine) and also fined out how much this dealer knows about advantage play.
Can a dealer influence a pit boss? Sure if the dealer is known to the pit boss and a capable counter, the pit boss is paranoid and other reasons. Again Dealer asking me if I count is a hint to walk away.
Youre tip like bribery dealer to have your profile clean? It can, I've played at table where the dealer was as good as me if not better at counting, a tip here and there can keep them quite but you got to understand there not going to over look it if they up for promotion being watched themselves and many other reasons. Also think about the dealer position, they stand there playing there hand out the same way every time 17 or better? No take another card. Put a toke bet out there and now its a bit more fun for them, they got something riding on that hand and want to see it win.
I've played where a tip here and there got me much better penetration, from around 83% to 92% on a 6D game. Did the dealer know what I was doing, yeah I think so, or at lest they knew better penetration = better game witch = potential for me to win more and stay at there table longer and them to get more tips.
Again, when the topic of card counting comes up at the table, thats my hint its time to go.
Hope that helps you.
