I agree but...
Last week the count was high and so I bet my max bet. I got a pair of 7's vs dealer's 6. I split the 7's, only to have to split and resplit again. I ended up with four hands, 7,8 7,4 7,2 and 7,K. Of course I doubled the 7,4 and 7,2 in each case getting small cards that left me with a 15-17 I don't recall for sure. So at this point, I have 6 times my max bet that is based on a 1/2 Kelly calculation of my entire bankroll (not what is in my pocket for this hour of play at the local casino.
I'm a small time player and was a bit nervous with that much on the table but I still was feeling pretty good looking at the dealer's 6 with the count being even higher than it was when I bet initially.
However, when the dealer flipped their hole card to reveal a 5, I was more than a bit nervous, even approaching "scared". Despite my intellectual agreement, emotions to come into play.
