Counting - Practice Drills, Suggestions???

I am a novice. I recently adopted Fred Renzey's three stage Kiss Count. He recommends using one deck and turning one card over at a time to master card counting. He claims after you can count a single deck of cards accurately and consistently under 30 seconds you are ready for casino play. This suggestion is fine but I would like to try other suggestions, make my tutoring interesting, and eventually add counting obstacles. I downloaded Casino Verite but did not care for it. How do you gentlemen and ladies drill yourselfs? I have picked my system and now need to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. I imagine some of you have creative drill techniques. Thank you in advance.

Is as good as it gets. Practice with it on 1 card at a time, 2 cards at at time, full-table drills, learn to play with 1D/2D/6D and you will be able to count sub-consciously.

A few editions exist. Do you use the free version, lite, the paid version, etc? I am trying to figure out how to change the tag values. Maybe I need to read.

I bought both CVBJ and CVCX. I believe the versions are 3.0, but you can look at the qfit web site for specifics. In fact, I just downloaded the most recent upgrades (minor versions that correct problems or add small feature changes).

The free version will give you a good idea of how it looks/works, but the 5's replaced by 10's makes it less useful for counting practice.

When I bought 'em, Norm had some sort of "special combo pricing" which I assume he still does. It's a bargain at any price. Buy a very small laptop (I have a sony VAIO) and you can carry the world around with you, figure out game EV, practice on a plane, etc...

If Norm would release this for a PDA, that might be the one thing that would convince me to buy one. :)

Missed one question. I have the "full version" of CVBJ, not the "lite" version. I don't think there is such an animal (lite) for CVCX, the sim package.

I want to test myself using Kiss Stage 3 as Renzey designed at his set running counts. Is that possible? Sorry to sound foolish. I greatly appreciate your help.

1. go to "options" and "strategies" and "simple playing strategy".

2. Now you want to click define/edit strategy

click "quick primer" for details. The basic idea is now you will create a new strategy, starting by loading an existing strategy that is pretty close (to minimize your editing). Now you can change the tag values, surrender indices, every BS playing index you care to enter/modify, etc.

3. save this with a name. Now "attach" this to you, and your drills and playing stuff will use that for counting and decisions.

Could not be easier...
