I dont know if any of you play in Canadian casinos, but I was wondering if anyone knows of counters being barred from any of the casinos in Canada. All of the Canadian Casinos Ive been in the pit poss seems almost non existant, and they definately dont look like they intend to kick anyone out. All the tables have been 6D, could this be a reason? Thanks.
To tell you the truth I dont see much barring going on anywhere. However,there have been a few sweaty casinos that are known to bar players.
I've never seen anyone get barred either, it's not as common occurence as one would think. However, after reading message boards on the internet you would think casinos bar thousands of card counters a day. This is simply not true. These internet boards are getting rather ridiculous and causing newbies to be so concerned and worried about getting barred, they're probably playing a losing game.
I suspect many of these barrings posted on the internet are either exagerated or a fantasy. I just visited a web site where the moderator actually told a newbie to try and get barred on purpose. His pathetic reason was because he gets a good feeling when he's barred. I guess he somehow feels the barring has qualified himself as being an "Official Pro". This is a joke but it does not surprise me because the moderator of the site has been known for wanting to be some kind of famous card counter that's been barred all over the world and then loudly complain(brag?)on the internet of his misfortunes. On that note,a ploppy can even get barred if they try hard enough.
I've known Canadians who have been barred, but its less common than in Vegas. This is mainly due to the poor rules. In addition, the province of Alberta was legally prohibited from excluding players. I think this legislation has been rescinded, but the climate introduced by that legislation remains-countermeasures are preferred over outright barring.

Walking by a bj table, looking for an empty seat, I heard a lot of noise that attracted my attention. A player at 3rd base was casually moving chips from one stack to another while pretending to be playing with the chips. He was quite fast, but if you played there you would have had to wear ear plugs.
Canada is a big place. Alberta has mostly 4Ds with 6 and 8Ds in the high limit areas. H17,DaS, ESR, all shoes. In high limit areas, cards are being shuffled while other decks are in play. All naturals pay 1 1/2.

I think you are referring to the Rama Casino 80 miles north of Toronto...The only 6 deck games are in the high rollers section and although some of them only cut one deck out of play, others cut up to 2 decks out of play...If you can find the better game, you will certainly be under the scrutiny of the eye in the sky and ultimately the pit bosses also.
Their main defence is the fact that the lowest wager allowed is $50. [most of the time it is $100.]...That means that your maximum wager must be $500. and your bankroll to overcome the fluctuations of standard deviation must be 100 x $500. equals $50,000...Do you have that much money backing you up?...If not, even though your counting skills could give you a 1% advantage in the long run, standard deviations could easily wipe you out along the way.
Actually Stephen, the casinos I was talking about were located in BC. All the games there are 6D and they all cut only one deck out of play. Plus, there is anywhere from $5-$25 minimum tables, non recieving much attention from the PB's. I dont know if you've been to any of these or not.
I'd be enjoying myself rather than worrying. Just do it,if you dont put the money on the table you'll never win.

No Ken, I've never played in British Columbia...That sounds like good conditions and as Rocky stated, make sure you are properly bankrolled and enjoy while the conditions are still good.
