Not much outside of your decision happens. What you do has no effect on BS. BS is still BS. The correct BS play is to hit but the correct strategy play for a counter is to stand if they are always to do one thing.

The running count is still the running count. I am totally confused as to how you think hitting or standing on 16 changes the RC.
Whether you hit or stand on 16 when the count is near 0 or negative is virtually meaningless. When you have big bets out the correct decision is to stand (or better yet surrender).
