just my opinion

I'm tired of Celebrity poker, celebrity poker home game, celebrity blackjack. It wasn't you Hollywood that made me dislike the celebrity blackjack show but I'm burnout on all this celebrity stuff. I actually think they would have had a better show had they given the mike over to Dave more. It seems like as the shows went on, Dave was talking on air more and more. I think they saw something happening that wasn't pleasing. Yeah, like how good the ratings were for the Vegas Challenge. I think Vegas Challenge is more entertaining than the Celeb Blackjack.

viewing. Watching blackjack is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

As this was the big finale, we ended up editing in the extra 30 minutes to make a much longer show -- and as a result got much more into the celeb banter & hijinks. really there are two schools of thought on GSN's blackjack shows --

1. focus on the numbers, the cards, the results, the analysis of play, etc, OR

2. since the celebs aren't going to be true blackjack professionals, worry less about the outcome of every single hand & more about the fun we all have @ the tables

So the compromise becomes, focus on the gritty math that us counters love in the "World Series of Blackjack" (it'll definately evolve & be back as an annual event), and focus more on the fun, celebrity-influxed atmosphere that the American ploppie public loves in "Celebrity Blackjack". Both fulfill different 'demands.'

Thanks so much for watching! And i appreciate the love for 'Vegas Challenge' -- that show was a blast, and of course great to work with Anthony Curtis again. As for hearing/seeing more of me in the second season -- hey, baby, the magic's all in the editing... we'll just have to wait and see how they put the next season together. One big difference is that most of the episodes will only have four celebs (instead of 5), so there will be more 'time.'

But what gives?! All I heard after the World Series is "Man, that kid doesn't shut up!" Now you want MORE?! Looks like my evil plan is working... ;)

but the foul language & "fun" was not for all of us, especially the nose scene & Carolyn was a PITA. Final show: Shannon & Superman were the only plusses on that side of the table. Ben tried to be civil but fell into Carols ploy.

It's needs to be a more "do anything game", ie:

Double on any 2 or more cards
Surender early
Surender anytime
Insurance made available in play action sequence

I liked seeing Blackjack played, although the guest players need to be screened better. I guess the show needs some time to find the right mix. So which way does the show go...like "Jeopardy", where the knowledge is the star, or "Hollywood Squares", which the talent is the show?

I would recommend having the cards dealt down and show the cards to the TV Audience just like ESPN World Series of Poker.

Working with celeb's you have to first find out who can be on the show (workind around their schedules) then hope they are willing to be on the show.

I though Snoop was funny (very dry), and Eddie Griffin was entertaining (bad way to aggessive), Caroline came across as a (Beeeoucth as Billy Baldwin put it in the finals), but reguardless of what we thought of the players as long as we watch the show and the fact we remember these things the makes the show is a success.

Dave has already told me they have set Celeb. BJ II and will add more shows, (good for him). And come Monday night we will all be watching again when it starts back up.

As far as learning anything about tournament play "NO", but it is more entertaining then watching re-runs of friends.

The format is okay, I don't know what else you could do to jass it up. Dealing the cards down would slow up the game and kill the game and kill the joker. The Super-Fun suggestion was not bad, DD and surrender anytime could be interesting. Maybe use the "Catch 22" card from MS. tournaments, (Everyone players gets one catch 22 card when and if they hit 22 they can give it to the dealer and take a push on that hand.)
