Hi there guys. As a relative beginner to card counting here in the UK, I'm amazed I can't find one other card counter somewhere online who operates in the UK. I was wondering if any of you know of anyone who counts cards here in England?. As it would be good to establish some contact and share some views etc. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
I live in London, if I have not been on a good game for a while, I tend to go warm up at a London casino or 2. Generally the games here are not that good, but as warm up they do help.
I play in the U.K. I have to spread more here than Eastern Europe. This is facilitated by lower table limits.
I have yet to see another counter in action!
Thanks you guys for replying. What system do you adopt in the UK? I am currently getting to grips with the KO system. If I'm not mistaken all the games are played pretty much with the same rules and similar deck size?. What are your results in the b & m casinos?. I noticed a csm in my local grosvenor casino in newcastle and i was wondering if that is now the norm in the uk?. It would be good to keep in touch and maybe go hunting one day?. Cheers Adam
In London the table scrutiny tends to be high, I play during the day and sometimes there are only 2 tables open with one Pit Boss sitting central to the tables, you only really get a break when somebody on the other table talks to him. The rules are not overly favourable for the player so bigger spreads than normal are needed if you want to make decent money but as I said I generally use these casino's as a warm up for better games.
If you are new to counting and want some practice Brighton has �2 mins in the off season so practice can be had for a relatively cheap price.
Being up north I will say that in April 2000 Grosvenor in Manchesters china town had a pit critter that could count and would not hide the fact he knew you were counting, saying that he never backed me off but if he had I would have lost the ability to play at any Grosvenor.
Grosvenor along with Gala casinos are very poor. The only good one I came across was Park Towers in Knightsbridge, until they changed from 4 deck to a 6 deck game.
It would be interesting to see how far you could go before being politely asked to leave, altho I think they do it by post. Getting barred would probably be a badge of honour, and would force you to seek out much better games a short plane ride away.
They keep banging on about building Las Vegas type casinos around the country, but will the rules/conditions change?
Played there in March. Actually WON money, but the no hole card thing was something I'd never done before. The no-hole card thing can make it messy.
I'm sure someone has a book somewhere on counting in London, especially since you can only double certain pairs and not others...
I played the Golden Nugget in Picadilly. Nice place; small pit, little heat.
