I rarely respond to an aceside post because he does nothing but pollute every forum he touches with utter nonsense, but I'll make an exception here.
Aceside, the book is invaluable to the active player. Your statement that HC games are rare is just another example of your posting out of your ass. Do you really play in casinos or do you simply troll from your mother's basement?
Al, while I agree with you in principle, in the case of CAA, it really doesn't apply. Correct me if I'm wrong, but only 250 copies of the book were printed and sold. There has never been an additional printing or distribution. In that case, neither the author nor publisher is being hurt by pirated copies being circulated. And it doesn't hurt resale value of the original book, either. I posted mine for sale on BJTF a few years ago and got $3K for it.
First, it should be clear that you are ethically obliged to purchase a legal copy of any work. The creator has the absolute right to any financial renumeration from that work. Obviously if that doesn't happen people will stop producing creative content, something which is already happening.
With regard to aceside's criticism: that is valid. There is no credible source among AP experts that places the frequency of loaders at more than 1%. Most place it lower.. The vast majority of players will never knowingly encounter a loader. You cannot practice game selection with loaders and you cannot play extended sessions against individual loaders, so it is generally only viable for those living in areas with a large number of casinos betting large amounts of money. It just isn't a viable play for the vast majority of AP's.
Sometimes specific opportunities will occur due to a flawed game procedure: however since there is no discussion at all in the Grosjean book about how to actually find loaders it isn't germane to this discussion and the experience (imaginary or otherwise) of individuals claiming to have relevant expertise is not relevant.
