btw, don't play 6:5 SD on the strip, not even for "fun".

I am relatively new to the message board. Just wondering what the difference is between 6:5 versus 3:2. I know this may be a silly question, but I don't know. I play in Missouri and the payout is 3:2. Should 6:5 never be played?

6:5 payoff, that $5 would give you $6. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GAMES no matter what bells-and-whistles the casino offers you.

6:5 blackjack increases the house advantage in single deck play by 1.39%. The typical single deck Strip game with 6:5 blackjack has a house advantage overall of about 1.45%. This is worse than the line bet at craps, and worse than many video poker games. In fact, it is possible to find slot machines that give you better odds.

The typical rationalization used is "well, I don't get a blackjack all that often, so how much can it hurt?" A lot, given the fact that you get a blackjack about once every 21 hands. Giving up 60% of the blackjack bonus is huge.

Every person who sits down at a 6:5 table might as well be wearing a big sign on his back that says, "Sucker." That's what knowledgeable players see when they pass by a 6:5 table, and that's what the casino sees as well.

If I go to Vegas I generally put in about 20 hours of blackjack with an average bet of $100. If I get an average of 4 blackjack per hour or 80 blackjacks for my trip, on a 6/5 table they will short me $30 for each blackjack or $2,400 for the trip. That is a big hole to try and get out of. Best thing to do if you feel the need to play 6/5 blackjack is just write the casino a check.

I was wondering just jow many of the Las Vegas casino deal 6/5?

I counted 36 casinos in Las Vegas that were listed with 6:5 games, and at least two that have even money payoffs for naturals.
