Boomtown Reno "countdown"

Recently tracked at Boomtown and something interesting happened: I was playing heads-up when the pitboss stopped the game on one of my high bets, and searched through all the spent cards. Presumably he was looking for lots of low ones. After doing this he went over to the computer and typed something in, but never asked me to leave (however, I left about 10 minutes later).

Now I'm paranoid about being tracked there, which is unfortunate since Boomtown is good with comps. Any thoughts? Is this unwarranted paranoia? Anyone had a similar experience at another casino?

Would you rather this evaluation be done where you can't see it happen? You didn't mention whether he ordered a shuffle or let you finish that shoe. If, after checking the discards and the computer, he let you continue without a shuffle then I think you are good for a while.

Didn't order a shuffle, but one was in order after the hand was played anyway. Thanks for the thoughts.

This pit boss does this all the time. He looks like Roy Orbinson and he is a really nice guy. He'll go through the discards if you have top bet out. Mostly to tell you that he knows about card counting. If the count was high he probably put some note on their that said "watch" or "call the eye." Boombtown has a deadly eye for anyone betting over $75 and trying to spread more than 1-3. If he didn't put a note on the computer that means the count was not positive. How come you don't find out? Go smooth talk the players club into letting them see your profile.

The fact that the PC didn't cause a shuffle or eject Splitski may not mean anything: If this was a pitch game (Boomtown), and a max bet was out, it was likely time for a shuffle anyway, and, since Splitski left almost immediately, he essentially backed himself off, which was probably what the PC expected. All we know now is that the PC knows that Splitski had a max bet out at the right time, that the PC entered some kind of info into the computer, and that Splitski left almost immediately upon seeing action by the pit. This has happened to me many times, as it has to you, and I fear that it does not bode well. I would avoid that PCs shift as a minimum for the near future. Bonne chance, Splitski; PV
