And how many poker players become instant millionaires? I�d rather earn my money at a reasonable rate than pray for a big score that probably won�t happen. That�s why I keep my full time job instead of playing the lottery. =)

My biggest advantage was 12% against a particular side bet. Along with my 2% blackjack advantage it added up to 14%. I�m not too familiar with poker, but I don�t know anyone who claims to be able to consistently earn 14 units per hour. My highest EV was 20 units per hour, but that was during a special promotion that didn�t last long.

Things may be more difficult now but they are definitely not worse. You can�t just walk into a casino, sit down at a SD game and spread to your heart�s content anymore. However, you can get much bigger advantages today then ever before. You can�t backcount, track, sequence, or cut/steer a SD game. As I said before, those techniques are the bread and butter of a skilled player these days.
