Just had my first encounter with online bj, and realized that I should have done better research before jumping into it. I chose "7 Sultans" for the match bonus and didnt realize there was a "compulsory" jackpot bet, or whatever they call it, of $1/hand on whether or not your first card will be a 7, etc. Pisses me off. How much will this affect my expectation. Also, the min. bet is $3, whereas I assumed it would only be $1. Shame on me for my incomplete research! As a counter I feel ashamed, as I hope I would never be so careless in a land casino......

Also, how do you keep track of how much you have wagered in total. I could not figure out if the casino gives you access to your total wagering info, or if you have do this yourself. Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Agree with Revereman just write it down. I use a keno ticket. Simply work out how many betting units you need to turn over, & draw a line across the finish, (may require a few tickets depending on the size of your betting unit).

Then, simply put a line thru each square as you bet a unit. If you vary your bets, (recommended as many online casino don't like flat bettors) simply put a line thru two boxes when you bet two units.

The beauty of this system is that you don't have to sub totals as you're going along & there's no danger of doing too much t/o. I like to go over about 10% though.

The way i keep track is to get a deck of cards,take out 2 cards.
Then say you are flat-betting 5$ you just take one card off the top and move it to the left or right,when the whole pile has been moved you know you have bet 250$.
If you double down or split just move off 2 cards.
When you have bet the deck put a coin in front of you,so if you have say 5 coins you know you have wagered 1250$.

This is easier and faster than writing down,but if you play in an internet cafe you will look a bit weird!

use a "clicker." You know, those things baseball coaches use to keep track of pitches. You can buy them for around $5 at most sporting goods stores.

for the response. It turns out my first online bj experience proved me to be even more of a bonehead than I thought I was after first posting the above. It turns out that the site indeed did have a couple of standard bj games, as opposed to the crap "progressive" game I described. Of course I find this after dumping a fair amount of $'s on the poor game. Anyway, once I discovered my monumental error, and entered the better game, I made out all right and almost worked my way back to even. Anyway, how does cashing in work. I assume that once you have met the wagering requirements and choose to cash in, they will send you a check. Is that how it works? The rulebook has been torn up in the last few months. Even previously reliable operations like the Fortune Lounge group on the left there are now stalling/denying payment or issuing "phantom" bonuses.
Ironically a lot of people are turning to BH as card counting dies but BH itself is going into a far more terminal decline.

I often feel that people that have so many negative things to say about BH are very much into BH and want to call the doggs off the game. Most of the good joints will process your withdrawal within a 48 hours (longer if you WD on a weekend). Other casinos, while honest, may take 5-7 days (Casino-on-Net, for example).

If they haven't processed your withdrawal within 10 days there is a problem, and you should contact them. Don't be confrontational at this point, as it won't help you much. Many times, the delay is just due to incompetence. Dealing with this type of thing is part of bonus hunting, but it isn�t too common.

Actually receiving the money may take up to a month if a check is sent. If they pay by Neteller, the average time from withdrawal to the funds hitting your Neteller account is less than a week.

Before you play with them to find out how long they take to send the money. Very important, because there are some places that take up to a month just to send it by neteller! It's good to get all of the info from customer support before playing with a casino. In business, the best way to deal with people is to present them with something they want that is also benefical to you. This is not an "all for one, and all for me" type of deal. It is a win/win situation.
