betting spread..

What is the lowest betting spread that would still be effective?
I was curious about the 1-3.

In my hometown casinos, I would either be playing 6d H17, DAS, double on any 2 cards, not sure on the penetration. Or dd with the same rules. The 6d is $5 minimum and the dd is $10 min. off peak.

Also, what is the general rule for a session bankroll?

Unless you are following a strict Wonging regimen, a spread of 1-3 isn't enough for six-deck play. 1-3 would probably generate a small profit in the double-deck game, but not a lot. You could use an exit strategy on the six-decker and get by with a 1-4 spread, but unless you are getting great penetration, the six-decker you described isn't a very good game. The two-decker is passable, and if it has good penetration, it could be a very acceptable game.

I don't know of a general rule for a "session" bankroll. Each person's definition of what a "session" is can vary. I like to bring 10 max bets with me when I go to a casino for a one-shot hit, but everyone has his own idea about what is good. It is better to simply approach the game as one long session with breaks for food, sleep, work, family life, etc.

Wong in at a positive count (+2 or greater) and bet 1% of your bankroll per location. I like to cover 2-3 spots if possible.
Play while the count is positive, when the count turns netural (+1) play is still recommened since your break-even. Your already seated incase the count turns positive again, so don't worry.
Never bet on a new round if the count is below +1

Once you exit, make sure to take a tiny break. Smoke, pick up cell phone, drink a coffee or hit the bathroom. If you exit a table and immediately watch another table it will raise a red flag. Have a reason for leaving.

This method of play is better then a 'play all' since you never risk money in a -EV situation. The reason for a bet spread is to make up for the -EV hands you played. 85% of the time you will be -EV or break even on a 6D game. Playing 15 +EV hands is better then someone playing 100 hands in a play all situation.
