Bet Spread Question
If I were to use a betting spread of 1-20 units, what would be the best way to raise my bet when using Hi-Lo count? Should I raise a unit every +1, or would it have to be every +2? Thanks in advance.

a ramp of 1,4,8,14,20 at TC of 0,1,2,3, >=4. This is for 6D with 1.5 decks cut. Better games generally have a more gradual optimal ramp. If pen is worse then it may be optimal to ramp up even faster, perhaps reaching max at +3. I suggest buying the BJRM software to get quick answers to questions like this.
thanks DD, situation is 6D with 1 deck cut, so im guessing itll be quite similar.
Go to the bathroom when the count tanks. Sometimes bet up to five units (and usually 2 or 3, particualy if its a S17 game) off the top if you really want to spread 1-20.

Do NOT bet more than one unit off the top. You don't give exact conditions but your starting dis-advantage is approx -0.5%.
The ramp sugested by DD is good advice though.
Instead of betting 20 units on one box at a true of +5 for example try spreading to two boxes of 15 units( 75% of the one hand wager).
CVCX or BJRM can assist greatly with optimal betting.
