basic strategy- why is it so hard for most players

Oklahoma Indian casino had this game for many years- 6d, h17, das, rsa, early surrender on dealer Ace, late surrender otherwise. Low stakes. decent penetration. usually only one or two tables open. House advantage was something like 0.02%

I played for a few years and I never saw a player taking early surrender correctly. 9 out of 10 players never took early surrender. The few that did were not correct.

Even without checking a reference calculator, this just seems obvious and intuitive. If the dealer has an ace and you have a stiff, you are much better to take half back and call it done.

I guess the fact that so few players were taking advantage of rule is why it lasted so long. Wish I would have taken more advantage when it was available.

Seriously, I never could understand why casinos don't more aggressively tout their late surrender bet either in big letters on the layout or verbally from the dealers. At best it's on a small notice or on the scrolling limit sign.

In my casino it would be in 3 inch high letters with neon lights.

You will still be 52. Otherwise you could live forever by going back in time over and over. Also if you went back in time to before 1962 you would not exist anymore.

Most people don't understand or justify their actions with percentage advantage/disadvantage. They don't even know such ways to express things.

I always found justifying averages to be arcane, exhaustive, and non intuitive.
