Has anyone every played a casino-style blackjack game at home? Did you bank the game yourself or did you share it around? What table limits did you set and how did this compare to your bankroll? What rules did you offer? Did you offer any side bets? What sort of equipment did you use? What problems did you encounter (arguments, cheating, etc.)?

I recently acted as the house for my wife, my brother and my sister in law. I dealt single deck down to the last card, offered S17, DA2, DAS, LSR, RSA and allowed them to hit split aces. Basically, every good rule I could think of. I should mention that none of the three people in question has any clue about BS or counting, and we were all drinking heavily. We were also playing for real low stakes, $0.05 min, no max, but the highest bet was around $5.00. I cleaned all three of them out in less than an hour, netting around $60 or so.
The only complaint was with my constant toke hustling (I was going for an authentic casino experience, and was begging for a $5 tip EVERY hand). Also, they were pretty upset with the CW service since it was the just the four of us and we had to get our own drinks.
Thanks Coug Fan, I hope it'll be a lot of fun for us too. Say the stakes were a little higher ($1-25) and you didn't know the players as well as you did. Would you still do it? What would you change?
How did you go dealing? I've been practicing a bit, and it's not as easy as it looks - especially when you have to place all the player's bets and keep count, and no tokes either. :-)
I would be comfortable with the stakes that you mentioned ($1-$25) if I knew the people at least somewhat. Then again, those stakes are still fairly small for my BR. I might tighten up the rules a bit if I suspected that they knew BS or knew how to count (my rules gave a BS player an edge over the house).
As for dealing, we didn't try to do anything formal, so I wasn't too worried about it. I probably would have been more careful if I was playing with people I didn't know too well and the money was significant to anyone at the table. I would be more worried that the players would suspect they were being cheated than the other way around (especially if they were bigger than me).

I was a dealer at a BJ table for an all-night grad party at the local gym. I did all the stuff you mentioned and most everybody still lost, so then I told them that every other hand I would play Double Exposure and show the players my hole card! That finally opened their eyes and they began to win. It was all just for "script" which earned each player the right to a raffle at 4am that morning. A lot of fun! But, I found out what dealers have to go through to get the table to have fun...and my back hurt for 2 days after dealing for only 6 hours.
