A NJ court ruled that giving cash and other assets to local police is unconstitutional. Now, NJ police are less likely to steal your bankroll if they come across it while giving you a speeding ticket. Federal law enforcement and police in other states can still rob you, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

On behalf of the Europeans who often travel to NJ and post here, thanks for highlighting this information, as naturally this sort of news item does not make it to the international press.
It took a cop getting caught in this modern day pirate scheme to put a stop to things.
The mob has some well defined rules of what happens when one gang steals from other gang members. Maybe the police should take some guidance from those groups as long as they are going to be involved in similar activities.
