Anyone have their comps pulled?

I gamble at a cheesy casino once in a while with bad pen but good rules and should be considered a regular customer since I give then my action twice a week on average. In the past several years they took me off the mailing list twice(not that I care).The first time I asked the VP lady what happened and she said that there was no address listed in the computer,only my name and blackjack points were listed. She re-instated my address and shortly thereafter I began receiving coupon comps again. Well,six months later I'm off the mailing list again but this time my address is listed. VP told me to ask the pit boss what's going on so I did. His remark was my hours of play are still listed in the computer and he does not know why I no longer receive comps. I chose not to make an issue about this and no longer use my card. Actually I prefer to not get rated at many casinos anyway and the mailing comps are not that important to me. Has anyone ever experienced being a regular customer and still get marked off the mailing list. I understand mistakes happen,but twice?

Does the pit boss or surveillence have the authority to pull comps as they please?

They probably assume that, if you can play twice per week for several years, either a) you're an advantage player, or b) you have an infinite amount of money. Either way, they probably assume correctly that you don't need comps.

Maybe missed something in this thread? From what I can read, the only thing "bad" that has happened to you is that you are no longer getting mailings? And yet people are saying you have been "backed off."

Have you had pit comps denied. That is, have you asked for a buffet comp while you were playing, and had that turned down. If so, then you may have some reason for concern.

At a mainstream casino, not getting any mail doesn't really much. The marketing programs have their own logic, of which the pit may not be aware. As someone said, this casino may not send mail to frequent players, figuring they are already there. Or there may be another reason why they are targeting a different group.

If they thought you were an AP and they were trying to discourage you, they would likely have a note in the pit computer. That would usually happen before you got pulled from the mailing list. From what you said, it sounds like this did not happen to you.

Now there are some "fly by night" casinos out there, where there is no predicting their behavior. Perhaps you are playing at one of them. But if it is a "mainstream" casino, I wouldn't worry a lot about it at this point.

Yes,I've been took off the mailing list twice,that's about it. I seldom ask casinos for comps and dont like using player cards. They have gave me food comps before and a players card was not required. The people you speak of that say this is a backoff,is in fact only one person's opinion in the thread,which(by the way)I happened to disagree with. Of course,RM thinks I'm rude and arrogant for not agreeing with him. Goes to show you where the arrogance is coming from.

Comps with a grain of salt is fine. I can take them or leave them. They are not a neccesary tool or crunch I need to be a winner. Besides this casino is at the bottom of my list. I would not be surprised if they're taking good basic strategy players off the mailing list for lucky wins or not losing enough money. This casino is managed by true sweaty idiots.

A few years ago I was well established at the pirate-themed strip property. Many nice meals, show tickets, etcetera. After one too many positive trips, they realized I wasn't losing at my expected rate; I didn't look like a typical losing player. So at the end of that comped-in-advance trip the host told me he would honor the existing comp for that trip but "from now on, if you want to stay here, you have to pay the regular rate."

They didn't bar me at that time, but I stopped getting the free offers.
