Gambling is just like investing people!! You have to have loss limits. If you don't, you get eaten alive. How many of you have investments then have been clobbered since 2000, and are still in the market?? Because you're in it for the "long haul". Many of you wish you would have gotten out right away, on in 2001, or in 2002, when the average investment lost another 25%!! But no, because you're in it for the "long haul"
Just like card counting!! Over "long haul", carding counting usually works, but not always. Besides, the bank roll you need is extremely high! On the order $1000-$5000 per trip, but ussually alot more. How many of you, card counters and "others" alike start with a new deck, encounter these circumstances or ones like it!!
Pick any number of decks, offset etc, you win 3,4,5, or more in a row, and the count is negative, even really negative, and you wish you could have BET MORE?? Your waiting for the count to change, it waffles bank and forth, and you continue to loss, because, like a stock, you're in it for the "long haul", you lose even more, and the count nevers get decent, you mite win alittle, or loss alot more!
But more frustrating, the count gradually gets higher, you bet more, but the cards barely if at all, come your way. And the moron on either side of you is geting the 10's and A's!! But the "long haul" perspective remains
Finally, sheer frustration!!, when the count gets high, quickly, and stays high, you start to bet, and you end up with alittle profit, sometimes if at all. Sures it great when you win, and win big, but again, look at all of those short term fluctutions, where you didn't limit your losses, ended up losing big, And more importantly, you could and should have bet more, but didn't, since the circumstanes weren't right. Because you're in it for the "long haul"
In investing, it's the classical moving average! When the 50 day moving average(dma) crosses over the 200 dma, you buy, when it crosses under you sell. The trend is long term downhill. But you have many, many short term fluctuations within that. Check it out at Yahoo.com, and click on "finance", its called technical analysis. Gambling is no different.
Without win goals and loss limits in investing and gambling, you are dooomed. How many people are still in the market for the "long haul", but lost 66% or more! Gee, all you have to do is TRIPLE YOUR MONEY, and you'll back to even. But it will take many, months, likely years before THAT occurs
Think about things!!
More to come!!
