Am I about to be warned, barred or worse?

I have been going to this Indian Midwest Casino for about 10 years, almost since they started. Almost all the 70+ dealers and all the supervisors probably know me, although I don't socialize. I visit the place, may be, 2-3 times a week playing 2 hours at a time.

I used to play 6D since that's all they had , but since the last 2 yrs I play 2D pitch exclusively Mostly $5, sometimes $10 table. My wins are usually meager as the rules and penetration are awful. (Yes, I go there as I am hooked)

I spread 1-5 and rarely jump the bet. No PC has ever paid more than a cursory glance at me. I use my player's card.

Now last Friday, as I was playing at a $10 table, I raised the bet to $25 at a suitable high count and placed a tip bet for the dealer (cover).
As I glanced I noticed the pit supervisor intensely staring at me from his nearby desk with a stern expression. It was clear that it was I that he was looking at and clearly let it be known that the look was severe, intense and non friendly.
Of course I lost the bet. In a few minutes, he had walked away and it looked like he did not pay any attention to me afterwards , although I did not look at his direction any more than normal.

This was puzzling to me. 99.5% of the players are floppies. I do come across some counters occasionally and some of them are so blatant and obvious that Vegas eye would bar them in a jiffy, but the most PCs at this place had no clue . I have never ever, ever, seen any one warned, threatened or barred.

Why did this guy give me that look? If someone behind the eye regularly watched my play , that will indeed raise some eyebrows (no pun intended). Did the eye in the sky ask him to watch me? Is this how the first chapter starts before the eventual 8-6 ?
Should I be worried? nonchalant? Panic? I am nonwhite, does it matter?

I have, since, been there couple of times and had nothing unusual happen. I do participate in BJ tournaments and won big once.

Has any one heard of a barring in a Midwest Indian Casino?

You sound a little paranoid just because a pit critter happened to look at you while you only raised your bet from $10 to a meager $25. He was probably just bored. I've been a card counter for years and have never been barred. I do get the occasional look(everybody does,even ploppies)but dont let it bother me.

As strange as it may seem,some ploppies like others to think they're a pro and know how to count cards. It would not surprise if several of the presumed blatant and obvious card counters you were thought to be, were nothing but wanna be's using idio progressions that happen to corelate in some way with the count while you playing at the same table. I recognize this happening all the time.

It's also a good idea to keep a running count because you are always ahead of the game. This keeps the PC always guessing. Newbies will usaully try to count the cards after the flop because it's easier and they have more time, but they put themself in situations where at times they have to look all over the board before deciding what to do. This can look obvious to the PC at times.

I truly believe that by being a fast card counter and using a running count, I confuse a pit boss who may be watching my strange bet variations into thinking "Man,there's no way this guy can be counting." Then they happily walk away with that smirky smile on their face.

Most backoffs are probably due to the inexperience of the card counter himself. If the pit dont back him off,then he "himself" will.

purposely try to intimidate their patrons with that stare. I remember when I played as a BS ploppy and would get those stares and think to myself, "what the hell is his problem." When I first learned to count and would get those stares I would become real paranoid and start to use cover. Now I just smile at them or give them that look back like what the F are you looking at. Maybe I will get that tap on the shoulder one day, but until then I will continue playing and looking as if I'm as comfortable as when I'm sitting in my living room at home. I think they are just trying to see how you react. Do you have a guilty conscience? If you do they will spot it and then start watching you even closer. I believe they do this to everyone. Just try to blend in as best you can.
