From what I've read and interpreted, using KO, if you are playing 6 deck where surrender is allowed, you should ALWAYS surrender your 16 v 10, no matter what the count is. The only exception is 8,8 where you surrender only at or above the key count.

Is that right?

You imply that there's something special about K-O that would make you always surrender 16 v. 10, while this is obviously not true for any other count. So, the short answer is no, that isn't true. If the count is sufficiently negative, whether K-O or any other count, you wouldn't surrender.

As a side note, if my count, at a 6-deck game were so low that it wouldn't be right to surrender 16 v. 10, I shouldn't be at the table!

Thank you Don! When I phrased my question, I did not consider an extremely negative count (while Vancura and Fuchs did not cover this in their book, their 'exit strategies' concur with your side note).

One of my weak spots is to remember to stand on 16 v 10 when the count is sufficient and when the 16 is made up more than 2 cards (I don't start with 16, but end up with it in mid-play). I'll get there. Practice makes perfect!

I used UBE. It would not generate an index number for 16 v 10. I even set up a special count using 5 and 6 - and 5 - or 6 - and monkeying with the number tags. Even then UBE would not generate an index for 16 v 10. Id there such a number for KO? Thanks

And if there is one then the player should be at another table anyway.
