A couple things

Okay, I am playing a Double Deck game and using Hi-Low. I would like to know what a good count system (The name of this counting system) to use for this number of decks and and I would appreciate it if someone would post a betting ramp schedule according to the True Count levels. I was thinking 2 units at 1, 3-4 units at 2, and maybe 6-7 units at 3+. If anyone feels different about this betting scheme or this counting system please feel free to voice your opinion. Much is appreciated.

Hi-lo is what I believe to be the most simple card counting system available that will get most of the money. I have found it works just fine for double deck. Your betting ramp is just about optimal and pretty close if not identical to what I use. If you wanted to put in the extra time to go with a level 2 or 3 system it may help you squeeze out a bit more of an edge if you are able to do it flawlessly. Other than that just stick with the hi-lo and have fun.

based on your advantage, desired risk tolerance, and bankroll size. They have software like CVCX for figuring this out for you. Full Kelly bets for each $10,000 of bankroll is about $85 per 1% of advantage.

What he means is if you don't have $10,000 lying around that you can live without then DON'T PLAY. Depending on the stakes you might not need that much but it also might not be worth your time. If you have the money then buy some recommended books and software.

Get to the point you can at least understand basic terms, then ask your questions. Visit this sites catalog also. You'll find many good beginning books. Our host has written several.

We all had to start from somewhere but yes bigplayer and they others are right you have to absorb as much card counting material as you can get your hands on. My best advice would be since you are just starting out keep your live casino play to a minimum until you have mastered the hi-lo. A good practice software that I highly recommend that has helped me tremendously is casino verite blackjack. It is well worth every penny. It has drills to help you with basic strategy and basic strategy deviations for variations in count. First though you must learn it in print I believe and it has been said already but this site has a lot of great info in it. Professional Blackjack and Blackjack Secrets are books that I continue to use to this day to help me brush up on things. Also, Make sure you know what is a good game to play otherwise you may end up spinning your wheels. Penetration is key. Try to do your practice away from the casino at first because it can cost you precious dollars if you aren't quite sure you know what you are doing. You will need every bit of your bankroll to sustain yourself during long losing streaks which will happen. Any other questions that is what this board is for. BP, my understanding is that full Kelly bets would be:

(EV x Bankroll) / Variance

(1% x $10 000) / 1.32 ----------- using SD of 1.15

$100 / 1.3225 = $75.61 , say $75 instead of $85
