6 vs 8 deck question

In general would it be more favorable to play a 6 deck game with a 2 deck cut or an 8 deck game (same rules) with a 2 deck cut? How much does the increased % penetration offset the addition of two-decks?

One you have 66% penetration the other you have 75%, so the better of these two would be 8 with 75%. Both are not good games. Look for the odd dealer that is cutting at 1.5 or less from 8 if you can.

I am wondering if this is showing the weakness of the Hi Lo count?

That depth of penetration isn't everything?

The off the top negative EV of these games is so close. I also do not divide my RC by 8 or 7 to get my TC, most I use is 6 because of the above EV. Gets my bets up faster and wongs me out quicker, as does the Hi Opt II count I use.

i wouldnt waste my time simming that strategy,I already know what the outcome would be. The win rate *MAY* actually INCREASE...this is due to overbetting,but the variance increase would be far to large for the added win rate to compensate. Why would you want to place a higher wager when you DON'T know that you have an advantage? If anything,the hilo tc OVERestimates edge as shown in recent posts by the math wizzes at bjmathcom.

How do you know that unless you sim it? The variance would be larger, but we are talking about a +2TC bet, not a +6TC bet.
