6 decks versus 8 decks

Just like to get some feedback if I may in regard to 6 deck versus 8 deck.
In Australia most casinos play 8 deck with a cut off 1 and half - 2 decks although in Queensland they play 6 decks with a cut off 1 - 1 and half decks.
I play all and I find that 6 decks is easier on the head and more lucrative than 8.
What are your thoughts and experience re 6 v 8?

There is no set answer, such as "6-deck is better than 8-deck." You need to assess the quality of different games by defining the rules, bet spreads, penetration levels, etc., and then seeing mathematically, which is "superior" on a risk-adjusted basis.

I have done this for hundreds of different game scenarios in my book, "Blackjack Attack."

Suggest you have a look.

In addition, you might consider acquiring some software, such as John Auston's Blackjack Risk Manager (BJRM), which will answer this and hundreds of other questions about game quality.

6 or 8

If the rules are the same for a 6 or 8 deck game, then the 6 deck game is better. Apparently the more decks that you have, the less becomes the percentage of times that you achieve each subsequent plus count...As an example [figures are only approx.] if in a 6 deck game you had a +5 count 2% of the time, in an 8 deck game it would be perhaps 1.85%.

This is in keeping with the expression, the less decks that they use, the better off that you are.
