Which one do you think is a better game?
1)double deck pitched game S17, DA2, DAS with a CSM with strictly 50% penetration
or
2)6 deck shoe game with same rules, dealer shuffles, and 4.5/6 penetration?
by csm with 50% pen. But ignoring the csm and assuming 50%pen on the dd game, the 6 deck game I like better. (neither is worth much really)

If you can use the standard 1-8 spread at both games, with the same conditions at both games (heads up) the double deck game is superior.
Usually the shoe game will wind up being much better because
1. You can wong out of negative counts
2. You will often get an uncrowded game (esp at $25 minimum)
3. Game speed at shoes if uncrowded is much higher.
4. Cover beting is required at DD game.
If the DD game lets you blast away with no cover, even a 50% game with S17 DAS rules will be far superior to the 4.5/6.0 S17 DAS shoe game. The auto-shufflers (two blue decks in play while two red decks get shuffled) make the double deck game worth even more because there is less downtime shuffling. Rounds per hour will be the deciding factor.
