Casinos brought in shoes to foil counters, so counters come up with a powerful
winning method that works only on a shoe. Arnold Snyder was the first to
do a good job of explaining shuffle tracking, in a three-part series in
the Sept 94 to Mar 95 issues of Blackjack Forum magazine.
Shuffle tracking not only yields a handsome win rate, but it also is much more difficult for the casino to catch than is card counting. Shuffle trackers often have a big edge right after a shuffle, and that is a wonderful time to make a big bet.
