Sharpshooter starts out by explaining the basics -- dice combinations, the different bets available at craps, etc. In chapter 5 he starts getting into the good stuff. Chapter 5 is on setting the dice, chapter 6 is on delivering the dice, and chapter 7 is on grip, and all three chapters are excellent.
Sharpshooter gets into all the nitty gritty of what you are trying to make the dice do and why. He also explains how to do what you need to do to make the dice behave the way you want them to. If you work on throwing dice carefully, you will reread parts of chapters 5, 6, and 7 time and again. If you are like me, each time you refer to the book you will underline more of it.
My only complaint about the book is that several of the illustrations show mirror images of what dice actually look like. An example is Figure 5-2 on page 74. The die on the left has a 5 on top and a 4 in the right face. The left face should be a 6, but in the book the left face is an ace.
